The idea behind meal prep

Wednesday 18th September, 2019  ●  Sarah Agius

It’s easy to make the decision to eat more healthily. The hard part is actually doing it. Some common stumbling blocks are deciding what to eat and doing the daily preparations, cooking and dishes. It’s about over-prepping for a few weeks and then coasting at mealtime.

Featured class of the month

Pilates

Pilates is the perfect class for people of all ages. The movements are designed to tone the body, improve posture, balance and joint mobility. Pilates is also popular with athletes since it helps them develop whole body strength and flexibility which help reduce the risk of injury.

What sets Pilates apart is its focus on toning the muscles with springs, bands, or your own body weight. Pilates demands intense focus, the way that exercises are done is more important than the exercises themselves. Pilates aims for elegant economy of movement, creating flow through the use of appropriate transitions. Once precision has been achieved, the exercises are intended to flow within and into each other in order to build strength and stamina. In other words, the Pilates technique asserts that physical energy exerted from the center should coordinate movements of the extremities. The stability ball, light weights, and resistance bands are some of the equipment used during the class.
